Sat Tal or seven lakes is 21 kms from Nainital. Kayaking, rock climbing and even mountain biking is possible in this secluded area.
Bhimtal (23 Kms)
23 kms away, this fairly large lake with a central island is a popular spot for picnickers and tourists. Boating and fishing facilities are available as are a choice of restaurants.
Naukuchiatal (26 Kms)

Hanuman Garhi (4 Kms)
3 kms-Hanuman Garhi temple is easily approachable from the rest of Ayodhya as it is situated right in the center of the town. The temple is a must visit during your trip to Ayodhya. The temple is an important site both in terms of religion as well as architecture and is thus hot among the tourists visiting Ayodhya. Hanuman Garhi is a massive structure in the shape of a four-sided fort with circular bastions at each corner.

It consists of a marvelous garden, Golf Links, Swimming Pool.Jhandidhar Modi Heights,Munshi heights are the other places in the complex worth seeing .The Governor's House was built in the line of Buckingham Palace having double storied 113 rooms .For visiting this place prior permission is must.
State Observatory (8 Kms)
The State Observatory is situated on the Manora peak at an altitude of 1951 m in Nainital and is around 5 km from the city center. The observatory is now known as ARIES, Aryabhata Research Institute of Observational Sciences.
