Naukuchiatal (26 Kms)
yet another lake resort 26 kms away, the lake has nine corners giving the place its name. Less prone to tourist traffic, the lake has great opportunities for bird watching and boating.

It is one of the main attractions of Nainital. This ropeway connects Snow-View Point (at 2270 Mts.) with Nainital near flats.

Hanuman Garhi (4 Kms)
3 kms-Hanuman Garhi temple is easily approachable from the rest of Ayodhya as it is situated right in the center of the town. The temple is a must visit during your trip to Ayodhya. The temple is an important site both in terms of religion as well as architecture and is thus hot among the tourists visiting Ayodhya. Hanuman Garhi is a massive structure in the shape of a four-sided fort with circular bastions at each corner.

Snow view (3 Kms)
2.5 kms -Snow View point is situated on top of the Sher-ka-danda ridge. At a distance of 2.5 kms from the town of Nainital, this is the most easily accessible hilltop.

Raj bhawan and High altitude Zoo (5 Kms)
5 km radius-Raj Bhavan was built by British as residence of Governor of North West Province. Now Raj Bhavan is the official accommodation of Governor (Uttaranchal).State guests coming to Nainital also use it for their stay. It consists of a marvelous garden, Golf Links, Swimming Pool.Jhandidhar Modi Heights,Munshi heights are the other places in the complex worth seeing .The Governor's House was built in the line of Buckingham Palace having double storied 113 rooms .For visiting this place prior permission is must.

State Observatory (8 Kms)
The State Observatory is situated on the Manora peak at an altitude of 1951 m in Nainital and is around 5 km from the city center. The observatory is now known as ARIES, Aryabhata Research Institute of Observational Sciences.
