Majuli
The largest island on the Brahmaputra has numerous monastries.

Sibsagar
The erstwhile capital of the Ahoms kings who ruled for six hundred years is also home to the Sivadol, the tallest Shiva Temple In India. The ruins of Ahom palaces and monuments dot the landscape in this historical town.

Kaziranga National Park
This 430 sq. km. National Park is teeming with wildlife including wild elephants, tigers, water buffaloes, swamp deer, gaur, wild boar, Hoolock Gibbon and most importantly, the Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. It is also home to over 300 species of birds including the rare Bengal Pelican. It is about an hour's drive from Thengal.

Nambar Forest reserve
It is most renowned for its rejuvenating hot spring.
