Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI)
This world famous institute is based in Darjeeling It is fitting that the the "Samadhi" (memorial) of Tenzing Norgay, who conquered Mt. Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary, is in the premises of the HMI. It has a noteworthy collection of mementos from all the Everest expeditions of the past, both successful and unsuccessful.

Bengal Natural History Museum
It has a large collection of Himalayan flora and fauna.

Lloyd Botanical Gardens
Located near the market, these gardens have an impressive collection of plants, flowers and orchids.

Rangeet River
India's oldest passenger ropeway, 5 km in length, is strung over the Rangeet River.

Sanchal Lake
This popular picnic spot is at 2448 metres.

Teesta Tea and Tourism Festival
This annual festival takes place from 14th to 20th November, and has cultural performances, tea estate visits and organised tours, treks and walks around the region.
