Tiger Hill
This is the highest point in Darjeeling. While Kanchenjunga, the highest peak in India is almost always visible from this vantage point, on clear days, the highest peak in the world, the Everest can be seen too.

Observatory Hill
This hill is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists as testified to by the Kali temple and the many prayer flags.

Bhutia Busty Gompa
This Gompa belongs to the Nyingmapa sect from Sikkim and its library holds the original copy of the Tibetan Book of the Dead.

Yogachoeling Gompa
Also known as Ghoom, this Gompa generally obscured in mist has an image of the Maitreya Buddha. One of the most visited monasteries in Darjeeling, it is only 8 km away from the town.

Other monasteries
Samdenchoeling, Sakyachoeling, Phin Sotholing, Aloobari, Thupten Sangachoeling and Sonada Gompas.

Dhirdham Temple
This is the most prominent Hindu temple in this town.
