The
Sardar Samand Palace in Pali is a hunting lodge built by
Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1933. All the original features
of the lodge have been left intact and its vast grounds
and impeccably maintained gardens are a delight against
the backdrop of the shimmering Sardar Samand lake that
teems with birdlife. While it is only 55 km from
Jodhpur, it is an idyllic retreat away from the bustle
of city life. As impressive as the exteriors are the
finely crafted interiors of this art deco lodge. |

Sardar
Samand is a large expanse of lake where flamingos,
pelicans, ducks, geese, crane and kingfishers
flock. Pali is only 55 km from Jodhpur but the
location of the Sardar Samand Palace, against the
lake, is removed enough for the ultimate hideaway.
