Phalodi fort
This fort in Phalodi was built by Rao Hammir Narawat, the
grandson of Rao Suja, Maharaja of Jodhpur (Marwar) in the year
1488 AD.
Jain Temple
This temple, built in 1847 by the Oswal Jain community is made
entirely in stone without girders or cement. The glass used is
old Belgium glass. It is quite a marvelous architectural
structure.
Khichan
A widely visited spot on a bird watcher's trip is the
sanctuary of Khichan, 5 km from Phalodi, best known for the
Eurasian Demoiselle Cranes (Kurian) that migrate here in early
August from the European and Mongolian winters.
Shopping
Wander through the city and find bargains at the various
bazaars.
The temple of
Jambaji, a few kms from Phalodi, is a lovely spot on the banks
of a small, deep blue lake. It's a ideal spot to bathe, relax
and have a leisurely picnic spread.
The temple of
Ramdevra too is a popular place, locally much revered.
