Kanha
Jungle Lodge is a short walk away from the Mukki
entrance gate of the Kanha National Park. The lodge is
in a 11 acre estate of a thick, mature Sal forest,
therefore by itself a destination for bird-watchers,
though visitors to the lodge clearly come for the
excitement of a visit to the neighboring jungle. |

Accommodation
There are
20 spacious, twin-bedded rooms on offer. They are
furnished practically and comfortably with writing
desks and storage for luggage and clothes and all
have attached baths with running hot and cold
water.
Tiger Lounge - A large common room seating 40
serve as dining area. There are also lounge
chairs for a relaxed read with a number of
wildlife books available in the resident
library.
The Courtyard - This open area in the centre of
the Lodge is surrounded by Sal trees, birds and
butterflies - the guest can either laze in the
hammock or traditional swing and get some sun or
come night, sit around a campfire or star gaze.
In keeping with the environment and the
conservation efforts, the lodge uses a great
deal of solar power for energy, water heating
and cooking. Its organic waste is converted into
fertiliser for its organic farming using
wormy-composting.

Kanha,
with an area of 1940 sq. km (740 sq. miles) and at
an altitude of 460 MSL (1500 ft.) is situated in
the state of Madhya Pradesh. The rich vegetation
and thick woods of the region are prime reasons
for the flourishing fauna. Besides the many
species of wildlife to be spotted here, the land
is teeming with birdlife.

twin-bedded rooms at the Lodge are spacious,
efficient and friendly. They are all equipped with
reading lights, writing table and chairs, large
luggage rack, baths with hot and cold running
water.
