PICNIC SPOTS
PRIYADARSHINI / FORSYTH POINT:
This beautiful viewing point marks the place
from where Pachmarhi was discovered by
Captain Forsyth in 1857 and is named after
him.
RAJENDRA GIRI:
Named after Dr. Rajendra Prasad is said to
be discovered by him on one of his visits to
Pachmarhi and is famous for a beautiful
sight of three high peaks of satpura range (Dhoopgarh,
Mahadeo Hills, Chauragarh) from one point.
DHOOPGARH:
The highest point in the satpura range (4429
ft above the sea level), with a magnificiant
view of surrounding ranges is a very popular
spot for veiwing sunrise and sunset.
TRIDHARA / PICCADILY CIRCUS:
Popular picnic spot where two streams meet
in a junction.
VANSHREE VIHAR / PANSY POOL:
A beautiful spot on the denwa river offers a
cool and a shady place among the trees with
semi-tropical vegetation.
SANGAM / WATERS MEET / FULLERS KHUD:
A soothing picnic spot on the denva river
which offers good bathing pools both above
abd below the meeting of the waters.
HANDI KHOH:
Pachmarhi is most breath taking experience has
a 300 feet high precipice and steep sides.
BISON LODGE:
Constructed in 1862, it is the oldest
building of Pachmarhi and now houses a
beautiful museum depicting the rich flora
and fauna of Pachmarhi.
ROCK CLIMBING, PARASAILING, BOATING, GOLF
AND BUNJY JUMPING are other unforgetable
experiences of Pachmarhi.
THE SATPURA NATIONAL PARK
Set up in 1981, Satpura national park is
524sq km in area. It spreads through a
densed forest of evergreen sal, teak and
bamboo. The park is home to animals like
Gaur, Tiger, Leopard, Bear, Four Horned
Deer, Blue Bull and rich variety of birds.
