The
WelcomHeritage Bandhavgarh National Park was chosen as one of the Tiger
Reserves as part of the ongoing Project Tiger that aims
to protect this highly endangered animal. A large
variety and number of other fauna inhabit these wilds
and frequent sightings are possible of animals like the
jungle cat, wild boar, deer, mongoose, porcupine. to
but name a few. The Park is also a bird-watcher's
paradise with about 275 species of birds including the
bee eater, roller, pied cuckoo, whistling teal, jungle
fowl, green pigeon, golden oriole, myna, drongo, eagle,
minivet, waterfowl, storks, waders, parakeets and the
familiar but spectacular pea fowl.
